Ooh thanks for that Hezz. No I've never heard of them, but must say the first picture of the Buff looks very similar to my Buffs (except for the fact it was a cockerel!!). Perhaps they just call them a different name to us in the U.K. I have come across, black, blue, splash etc., in the Orpington line.

Thanks for those links Hezz. I believe our Queen has Buff Orpingtons too!! The first link: how can they say 'standard Buff hen' by the Buff Orpington. How very dare they! It's a beautiful Buff Orpington hen!!

Nobody told me how hard it was to keep chickens. I have two with bumble foot and one not eating and on anti-inflamatories, administered once a day by beak!!

Oh, that's no good, Shirls! Poor girlies. I do hope they all come good, sooner rather than later.

Ha, ha, Marianne, certainly not! I always have a look, maybe once a week or two. I have picked up some boarders by doing so, and Loki was a weak moment by OH from Gumtree as well, so .... well, you just never never know what might happen if you don't know what is happening around you ........ If there just happened to be a little bud, needing a very good, new home and going for nothing very much .... life can be full of surprises.

I'm in a quandry about extra birdies too!! Charlie is getting on a bit in his retirement pad. Pip, I don't know how old she is but she's not a youngster and I'm sure she has liver problems. Pickle is quite young (I think) and he is besotted with Pip. I don't know what he would do if she passed away sooner rather than later. Do I get another couple of budgies, to prevent having two solitary budgies in separate cages? Couldn't put Pickle in with Charlie that just wouldn't work.

As Grandma used to say ..... don't go looking for Trouble before Trouble comes looking for you. Something will work itself out, Shirls. Unless, of course you have an itch that you just can't help but scratch.
