I just ordered some more eucalyptus chew sticks with leaves for my budgies. They LOVE them! Go to their website: www.eucproducts.com/sticks.html and you can email the owner and ask questions. I wanted to know what was best for my budgies and he suggested branches with smaller stems with leaves on them. He also sent me a larger stick that they use for a perch -- they love to strip it. I'm going to order a large fresh branch with leaves and hang it upside down in the cage. It is very inexpensive and will keep your budgies happy for a very very long time. It's also very good for them and is a bug repellant too. These are the original gum tree eucalyptus found in their native habitat of Australia. Mine just can't get enough! They've never been happier.

What branches etc do you use for your birds Barrie? There is another discussion to do with this topic under "Budgie General - Creations" and as you are from the UK just wondered what you prefer and that is safe to use? Was thinking of either sycamore or Hezz said eucalyptus? If that is best then can you order online in the UK? Thanks in advance!

I grow willow from cuttings taken from trees down by the local river , these grow fast and provide fresh perches containing medicinal properties.

I bought a eucalyptus tree and put it in the aviary!! Cheers Gaile, but a bit tricky when living in a 1 bedroomed flat with 1 bird! But good idea nonetheless Thanks Barrie - we have a river so close to us with LOADS of willow so that sounds ideal! Thanks for everyone's help, it is most appreciated
