Is it only me that woke up this morning and thought "yippee, this is it; bye-bye January!" I don't know why I always feel like this every year but I can't stand the month of January and I'm always glad to see the back of it!

Is it because it's the middle of winter in the UK? January is really cruisey down here in Australia. It's the very laid back month.

It's only 1 degree celcius today in London and it might snow. It's FFFFFREEEEEZING...

So hot here. I had to get up out of bed at 1.30am last night, in a sleepy daze, and stick my head under a cold tap.

Me and the birdies are sitting in the bedroom together. They're very peeved not to be allowed out til 4pm. We're having the kitchen replaced and didn't trust workmen not to open windows and leave doors open so it seemed the only safe option.

It's cold here but not even a suggestion of snow. That is because I'm just about as South as you can get in this country! Not far from me is a place where you can see the Isle of Wight, to give you an idea! My youngest is desperate for snow bless him!

Now, now, Dannie boy, don't you go getting frettful on us! But that must be rather a view, I would imagine. So January has flown? Say goodbye to the rest of the year then. It has been so humid here I think poor budgies are thinking they are in prison. The coolest place is on the deck where the cage lives at night, so I have to get them out first thing in the morning, leave them out as long as possible, but by mid-afternoon when there is not just me at home and the fans go on, they have to go back home. It is too hot for them in the house anyway.

Lucky you! I'm a bit further inland than you Dan, but if we go to hythe or calshot and watch the IOW ferry the boys try to watch it all the way to Cowes! Actually we are both lucky to live in this part of the country I think
