Hello budgie fans!
I have a problem with my almost 1 year old budgie.
He has never been able to fly since i bought him. He seems to have all of his feathers and seems to be healthy. All he does is sometines jump and walk. Someone any ideas to learn him to fly

Could you post some photos of your bird, please? Particularly from the back so that we can see his wing feathers and the posture/position of his wings. Have you taken him to a vet to be assessed? At this stage, if your bird does actually have the ability to fly, meaning that there is no physical reason for him not to fly, you will have to teach him gently and work on strengthening his wing and chest muscles before he will even be willing to try. You can perch him on your finger and gently move him up and down, enough to make him feel as though he is losing balance so that he uses his wings to keep balance. Encouraging him to flap is the first place to start. Marianne Marlow, didn't you have to teach one of your rescues how to fly properly, a while ago??

Yes, many years ago we had to teach Charlie to fly. We set up two clothes airers in the passageway and covered the floors with duvets! One of my good fliers, Dumpling, flew back and forth and Charlie would follow. Took a few sessions but he quickly got the hang of it

But you don't need a second bird to teach him. Just nudge him and see if he'll take the leap - in a very safe and soft environment in case he falls.
Like Hezz said, getting him on a stick and encouraging him to flap his wings may help.
If he absolutely cannot fly at all, then you'll have to get him a large cage and make his environment fun and safe.
