Thank you! Is it harder to introduce a baby female to an older female?

So long as you have had her go through quarantine for 4 weeks first and you supervise them when they do meet. Best way is to introduce gradually by having them in seperate cages and let them out together for short periods. As previously advised by another member it is good to have millet on top of the cage for them to share to get used to each other first when they are out

Thank you guys! My students found our first bird on our playground so I have no idea how old she is. But I know she was getting lonely so I decided to get her a friend and now I am a little worried… hopefully with a slow introduction they’ll do well. The resident female is actually going to be moving into the bigger cage with the New bird I was hoping maybe that would help since it wasn’t her cage that was being infringed upon.

Have the large cage as the new bird's cage from the beginning, and once you are sure that the two can live together then try letting the older hen in to explore. It may turn out that they have to be separated but can have time out of the cages together. Some birds do like to keep their own space.
