Just a quick question, I have 3 budgies at the moment, have decided to stop breeding them as my kids hate it and get upset when the baby's go lol, I've been wanting to get a cockatiel to add to the 3, would I be able to do that? Would they be able to share the same cage? (I have a big cage) Any advice would be great thanks

I'm not sure it would be a good idea to add the cockatiel to their cage. Hezz, what do you think?

Many years ago I had both a hen budgie and a hen cockatiel. While they tolerated each other there is no way I would put them in the same cage. Surprisingly it was my hen budgie who was the bully. Get the cockatiel a separate cage.

Different species should not be caged together. There are, of course, exceptions to the rule where two birds of different species become firm friends and want to do everything together, but even then the owner should be super vigilant. Budgies are more likely to be the aggressors, and the numbers would definitely be stacked in their favour.
