They'd escaped from their breeding cage and wouldn't go back. It has been the most stressful thing for both me and the budgies. I hate doing it. I'm so scared of hurting them. I was getting really stressed. I used a bed cover in the end and folded it up so it wasn't so big. Had to be so quick as they have such fast reflexes. Once the cover was over them I picked it up. I thought they'd squawk and flap about, but they didn't. I thought they might have been dead. I put the cover in the cage and opened it up and the budgie just flew out. Now I know the way it should me much easier next time - hopefully!

If you need to handle them how do you get them out the net before they fly away? I have really wanted to get a net to see if it helps, but have no money until I get paid.

It is very easy to get them out of it as they stick their feet to the net and are still at one place. Barrie uses this one. www.officialbarrieshuttbudgerigars.com/mybudgiecatcher.htmBut if you are trying to get them breed, it is better not to open the cage for a few weeks until they bond and start laying
