I got a job at the pet store. It was my first day on the job. I was so excited to be with the tweets. I love birds I have 4 keets of my own I bought them from the store I got a job at. I asked the manager what the owner of the store dose. She told me that he sometime works with the birds if he has time. She told me that the owner washes and feeds the birds. Now as a bird lover I get so upset if a person doesn't take care of birds. He doesn't wash the bowls he feeds the birds with the same bowl that has not been washed. The manger washes the bowl and takes care of the birds. She washes the bowls with cold water instead of warm water or hot water. Warm water or hot water kills Bactria. Then they had the cold air on and the doors open which is a big no no. I saw that the birds were cold. I went to go check on them 1 was in the bowl laying in it. I told my job coach she said oh its eating. I went to check on the birds again and the bird was at the bottom of the cage I wanted to pick it up and give it to the manger. The manger was already there. She said you want the truth this bird is not going to make it. I was sad for the bird because it was in the cage for a long time. I want to take care of those birds but I don't want to be the cause if some bird dies its on me.

That's a tough situation especially since you care so much for the birds. My opinion is stay at the job and do what you can to properly care for the birds. Sounds like they need someone to give them love and attention. Perhaps the other store workers will see you doing the correct cleaning, etc. and will follow your example. If you get to the point that you can't provide them with proper care and its ripping your heart out, you'll need to leave.
