I don't know where to start. I'm trying to rack my brain and there's so much to think about.

What I was thinking was, a safety box at one end. Double doors so if need be I can access the outside flight.
This will be attached to the flight. At the other side of the flight will be the bird-room where the birds will sleep at night. The bird-room will be cut into two. The second part being where I can prepare food etc and another door so I can get out.
I'm just so confused. How will I maintain heat, say if I have heating in the bird-room, as the coldness will just come in from the flight.

Thanks Mick. I love the red. Must have been a lot of work painting all the wood. My ideal plan is to convert our summerhouse. It already has everything. I just need to mesh it in, put door on side and sort inside out. It already has a drain system where the water drains off. The biggest job would be cutting a door into the side. Here's the summerhouse: And here's my very badly drawn draft of what I propose: Just need to persuade the folk. I think it's my easiest and best bet.

If anyone had any ideas of doing it so I don't have to cut a door in at the side then that would be brilliant.
I can't think of any other way of doing it.

It's ideal and would require minimum work. Wouldn't I have to go through the flight to get inside though which would be stressful for the birds? I want to have a little space in the summerhouse so I can do my maintenance. I was going to just corner off a small bit inside.

If you look at the drawing I did where I've just penciled in the right side like a corridor. Mesh that inside and have a door so I can access the bit where the birds would stay at night. I would access this via the door I'll put into the side of the summerhouse, but I'd like to avoid that if possible.
Then have a double door at the front where the flight is so I can access the flight too..

ok id just close off the left hand sid...odf the porch... including the left hand door... leaving the right door to enter the shed.....then the other door will give axcces to the flight from the inside of the shed...plus put a iner flight the same side ...also same side breeding cages about 6 of them.....that would give whole of the right hand side of the shed as work /storidge space ..........that wouldnt take long nore much money... job done ..... sorry forgot to say build a door into the inside flight by the side of the cages ....put the cages in first ...to see what room is left for the inside flight..then use it all for the flight ...
