Oh dear. Wellies or canoe loz ? It's Tesco. Doesn't take a flood to make me avoid it! (Long story short, Tesco deeply offended me in Dec 2021 and I don't forget ) I avoid a few stores and restaurants for the same reason!

Speaking of not being able to capture the beauty of a sunset ...
I will never forget the sky I saw late one afternoon when I was working abroad. I don't know whether my description will even approach doing it justice. I was on a desert walk, my daily cardio exercise but I stopped still, dumbstruck when I saw it. In the East, there was blue sky with thin, scattered clouds which were brightly picked out by visible shafts of sunlight that were filtered by clouds to the West. You could actually see the shafts of light. Quite striking but ... Overhead and to the West, there was a big, fluffy (cumulous) cloud, it was enormous. The sun behind this cloud had picked out a tracery of brightly luminous gold around the top edges of the cloud. It was, frankly, the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in Nature. An incredible sight but ... To the West, near the horizon, it was overcast but with gaps through which the afore-mentioned shafts of sunlight shone. The clouds near the horizon were casting a menacing magenta-red colour, which made the mountains on the horizon look for all the World like Mordor, Mount Doom. It was unearthly and immensely dramatic.
I stood look at all of this for ten or fifteen minutes. Any single aspect of that Sky would have been lovely to behold but the fact they were all present at the same time was dumbfounding.
A camera had no chance of capturing it. I cannot think of a painter, throughout history, who could have come close.

That sounds absolutely incredible. It was almost hallucinatory and somewhat hypnotic. You could never hope to see its like a second time!

We had a lovely sky here in Cardiff this evening. The photo doesn't do justice to the colours. The clouds were a lovely orange-pink and almost glowing. Beautiful picture, pink cotton wool, stunning 😊

Photos never show fog up as thick as it really is so I can imagine how it was, Marianne Marlow.
