One of my strongest memories of my mother (she died when I was 6 yrs old) is when my sisters and I were at a shopping center about 1 1/2 miles from our home. I was 3 yrs old and my sisters were 4 and 5 yrs old. My mother's car broke down and she called dad. He told her to start walking home along the major road and he'd be along to pick us all up. That's a long walk for little legs and she took turns carrying us. I remember saying, "Mom I'm tired. Carry me now." Dad came home much later after we'd been home and put down for a nap. Walks in the park are fun but little legs do get tired. Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy many more before the winter sets in.

That's a lovely memory to have tweetiepiesmom. It's strange how certain things stay with us.

Regarding picking things up - I am constantly trying to prise leaves and small twigs out of her hands. She was a bit grumpy with me because of that I recall how even a short walk can take ages with a toddler Marianne Marlow, so many puddles to splash in and interesting bits and bobs to pick up I don't miss being frozen stiff in a playpark while we had 'just one more go on the swings' Looks like a gorgeous evening for a walk though.

That is a nice memory. I'm sorry that you lost your mum so young. Eve can't manage a "pick me up" yet, she just says "up" and raises her hands in the air, but then she's not even 2 yet. One good thing about fall/winter is that the sunsets are beautiful! Sunset on Halloween. That is a truly beautiful picture TPM!

Thank you all. Doesn't it look like California with the palm trees?
