With our libraries shut down I am going to go stir-crazy without a book to read. I don't really want to go the e-book track but it might be my only option. Does anyone have any tips, best sites etc, where to go, what to do??? Any help gratefully accepted. Preferably free, but of course a small fee may be acceptable.

I subscribe to readly. au.readly.com/ It has thousands of magazines from all over the world and you can share it with other members of the family. I pay £7 odd a month and for that I can access all the craft, crochet, knitting etc, magazines I could ever need.

At the moment you can get a free trial. I just did an offer for £4.99 for one month

Thanks all; I'm more a book reader so will look into the appropriate ones. Hopefully will be able to find some I haven't read and for free.

I listened to Michelle Obama’s autobiography, narrated by her. I think I got that free on a trial

The thing is I prefer to read, rather than be read to. Fussy git, aren't I??

I'm with you Hezz, I don't like audio books either. Have you tried the Kindle app, I've downloaded that, lots of free books on there and loads at 99p. Not the same as holding a book though, but a good substitute under the circumstances.

Can't recommend Kindle enough. Would suite you well under the present circumstances Hezz. Amazon have loads of free books to download.

Thank you JB; much appreciated!!! I have a little hoard of books, not sure how many, that I haven't read (on purpose, for just such a time) but only three library books at the mo. Will let you know if/when I go down this track.
