Dunno if anyone else has experienced this - but Mont has been doing these sort of "wing vibrations" lately?
I would just like to add I am not worried, I just wondered if anyone else has experienced their bird(s) doing the same thing? She just seems to go off like a mobile phone when she is sat there "luxuriating" as I call it!
Only thing I can think of is it might be a comfort thing - as am aware when garden bird chicks want food they wing vibrate so their parents feed them - could it be something like that?
Also her feet get boiling hot when I give her tickles ;D

I notice this in stressed or nerves budgies, especially the ones I bring from pet shop. They stop doing so once they feel comfortable.
Budgies feeling hot do so as well.

Oh god I hope Mont isn't stressed?! Would say that I dont think she is, as she does it when she is being tickled or is settling for a little nap (situated on my hand I might add)?!

If it's cold she could be "vibrating" to make body heat.
Otherwise, it's a sign of excitement (if they are plump and gregarious) or stress (if they are slick in feather and alert).

I have seen mine do this when they have been having what I will call a "wizz attack" - madly flying around, not in a panic, but just to burn off some excess energy. Then when they land, it is almost as though their little wings want to keep going. That's just "it's good to be alive" kind of display.

Well I know we have had cold weather as we have had snow here but we have had the heating on so she is def not cold. And when she did this, she was sat on me plumped up and seemed very happy beak grinding. ;D Hezz know what you mean about the "mad dash" as it were, round the room! Only thing that Mont tends to do is "meep" as she goes round!!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts everyone

Smudge can't fly without letting everyone know about it, lol! Except hers is more of a squawk, rather than nice little meeps. More like "Look, look, I am EXERCISING, like I am supposed to!

Sparky gives a little chip, chip on the way......... but Smudge has to let the world know! She was always the awkward one, Sparky is a little rocket, and Blue now just goes from A to B. No noise, just go.

LOL! I must admit, I do have a soft spot for your little Smudge, being an owner of hen an 'all plus I love her colour on her wings - I think she is a really lovely bird, albeit a noisy one! ;D

Queen of the coop, is Smudge. I can give her a kiss on the chest.......... as long as I keep one eye on her, lol. As soon as I look away, nip! Lordy, could you imagine the feathers flying if our two got together? Both would want to be boss, and I doubt either would back down!

Think if I tried to do that to Mont she would bite me on the nose! But she does love to kiss my nose from time to time, but only when SHE feels like it (but that's as far as it goes)! And as for them getting together, yes think feathers would fly! They are both such strong characters think their personalities would clash!

Had plenty of them! but Smudge is such a fluffy girl and those feathers are sooo soft, I can't resist. I am afraid I made her allow me to give her a kiss.... I pushed the issue but we are at a good place now, lol.

Only thing Mont does sometimes is when she is "snuggling up" on my shoulder, she can get real close to the side of my face so I can feel how soft her feathers are ;D lately she has been regurgitating crop gloup for me...er..yum?
