I hope you all realise that I was just being silly and didn't expect praise I do have some of those grown up colouring books but I have so far not found the time to use it. I even have a budgie one.

Well done Marianne Marlow , love it. I like a bit of colouring in myself, have always been tempted to get one of those 'adult' colouring books, but never seem to have the time!! I have a couple of those Shirls, that my son brought me when I was in hospital getting a new hip. I kept me occupied for a while when I couldn't do much else

One day hope to see a page done up in the budgie coloring book! Perhaps something to do on a day when Eve is going through the terrible two's and the budgies are joining her.

Eve actually started having tantrums when she was 15 months old. She now throws herself to the floor and cries when she doesn't get her own way. She sometimes also bites either us, a toy, or if those are not available - herself. Now she has 12 teeth, you do not want to be bitten by her! Don't come near me or I'll bite ya. One day hope to see a page done up in the budgie coloring book! Perhaps something to do on a day when Eve is going through the terrible two's and the budgies are joining her.

Got a few children like that on the ward. Absolutely adorable but cheeky little blighters! I have been inspired by the creativity on this forum, but my attempt at crochet has gone about the same way as my sewing and drawing has gone. Might help if I could understand what the instructions for basic stitches even mean.

I so identify with your comment about understanding the stitches @sillycat84! YouTube has been a big help to me. Before the pandemic, there was a group of folks (yes, men as well as women) who met at a local yarn store to sit and knit and crochet. The store was great about sponsoring out get togethers. There were always very experienced people in the gathering that I could pass my work to and ask "what did I do wrong" or "how do you do this stich". My skills greatly improved during those sessions and I wasn't afraid to try something more difficult than what I typically do. I miss that.

How beautiful ladybird! Such lovely and cheerful colors! It looks complicated to do - is it crochet?

tweetiepiesmom That sounds wonderful! If I could even sit with my nan, who enjoys making basic crochet blankets, it would help. I think I got how to do the simplest stitch, but I'm not sure. I really want to knit a scarf for my OH too. One of those Dr. Who ones as he's a fan. I used to sew, could only just about make soft animals though, and I have enjoyed digital painting. I have some issues with having things I don't need though. Even with digital painting, where the end result is just a file that takes no physical space, feels like I've got clutter. I really should try to work on that. Maybe I should find something to do with things I make.

Tweetiepie , yes it is crochet and it wasn’t really difficult to do...just a lot of it lol. Many years ago a lady of 93 taught me how to crochet, she was so patient. I have tried to teach my granddaughter to crochet but she would rather play on her phone 🙄

Ira look at The Crochet Crowd on facebook and Youtube, two guys Daniel and Mikey, they live in Canada and do excellent tutorials and are very funny and very good at what they do. They have a huge following and well worth watching. If you want to quilt I have found the Missouri Star Quilting Company do excellent Tutorials too. They also have a community page where you can ask people questions.
Ladybird, that is really lovely. Priscillas crochet has some nice patterns as well as pintest.
