tweetiepiesmom Eucalyptus oil helps with headaches and migraines, just never to be applied on hair (isn't good for hair, promotes hairfall). Unfortunately, I left the authentic one I had for my family at my home. I have to get a new one. But, I had the cool pack, the heating pad & a mantra recitation music I find helpful. It helped. I'm much better now! blue48 I guess that's the same for Diwali. I personally want to blend in some cultural aspect in my family for future when I have kids some day or adopt, but don't want to be too orthodox at the same time. Prayers and faith helps you achieve your peace of mind, if nothing else. Diwali is supposed to bring light to darkness. But hardly anyone remembers that. All they do is burst firecrackers, replace the traditional earthen diya with candles, home made healthy food with junk food and so on. I guess this kind of change has happened with every culture and country. I like it when festivals and birthdays bring happiness to the underprivileged and unfortunate ones. If only the world thought about them more! 🧡 Honestly, I wanted to get into some risky social service which no one wants to get into, but being married and into a family, everyone is always scared. The point is I don't want to die one day, thinking about what I could have done 🤦♀️ Last year, we organized donation camps on 3 festivals for the slum and I had sponsored education for a girl child. With covid, their situation has worsened & we cannot help like we did earlier. There are so many issues to be addressed in my country. But, we all tend to forget it with the monotonous and hectic schedules we have samwiseg Noted 🙈 I'll keep that in mind. ffiscool Thank you. I love sand art and I feel better already 😊

Ha, pretty much like our Christmas then. I'm not actually religious but I do like celebrating midwinter and I get a huge lift when the shortest day is behind us and dark nights are imperceptibly getting shorter.

About three years ago I knitted a pair of socks for a friend. She loved the feel of the yarn, said it felt like a massage every time she wore them. She's worn them out and asked if I'd knit her another pair. Unfortunately, the company that makes that yarn is no longer in business. I searched through my stash and found one skein of blue and one of grey. It takes one skein to knit one sock. What to do, what to do. Do you think she'll believe that this is the latest LA fashion? I made her another pair from a different brand/company to see if she likes the feel of those. Anybody who works with yarns knows that the same fiber content from a different company may feel different.

It's funny that you should mention socks.......I attended a Scottish Women's Institute crafting session on zoom this evening and I had a stab at creating one of the Christmas crafts that they demonstrated. He's a little snowman made from an old sock. A bit tricky to try to follow the instructions and make something at the same time but it was fun. I think he looks a bit evil though!! Definitely a naughty snowman

Santa will be able to tell ... if he is naughty or nice. I would say mischievous rather than evil.

Woah! Those are fantastic! Knitting socks is not easy - but I can barely knit a scarf! xD I did make fingerless gloves once. No photos though And actually, I quite like the new LA fashion!

Love your snowman willowsmum! He does look mischievous as Hezz suggested. Glad you all like and approve of the new fashion socks! I learned how to knit because I wanted to knit socks. It took me awhile before I learned. Those socks were knitted on three dpn blue48, the yarn is a tad heavier than normal sock yarn to make those cozy socks. When I make socks using the typical thin sock yarn, I use 4 dpns.

I think a clever use of two different skeins to make a pair of socks. It seems the rules regarding pairing socks is so out of date. You can buy "pairs" of socks where each sock is totally different from its mate; your as least look like they belong together!
