Hi guys so I’m February my parakeets mated and had 8 eggs total. Once the babies were older and taking care on there own I separated the parents. They have been separated for over 2 weeks now but yesterday my female parakeet laid another egg the nesting box is not in the cage anymore it was removed a week ago. Is it normal that she laid an egg again that soon? Also if she is just laying unfertalized eggs then how many can she lay?

If there is no male around then yes it's an infertile egg. Remove the egg and rearrange her cage: perches, toys, feeding pots, move it all round. GIve her something to do, new toys, etc. Anything that will preoccupy her enough to stop laying eggs.

She could go on to lay 20 eggs if you don't give her cause to stop laying. You need to completely change thing up for her, lengthen her nights/shorten days, no fatty or sugar-loaded treats. If you have dummy eggs replace any eggs she lays with these; even large beads can do at a pinch.
