So I have already taken her to the vet and the vet is stumped... He did give her eye drop antibiotics...
I cleaned and put a hibiscus branch in my budgies cage about 10 days ago. After about a week one of my budgies had an eye infection in one eye. I took the branch out thinking maybe it was not cleaned well enough or she rubbed her eye on it. Eye looked 100% better on day 3, but she was blind in both eyes. There is another bird in there with her who is fine... Anyone have any idea what this could be?

OMG that's awful. Poor little thing. I hope she gets her sight back.

Was it an avian vet that you took your budgie to?
They could have fallen and banged their head, this could cause blindness. Or heavy metal poisoning. Do you have rusty things in the cage or metal that this budgie licks?

I don’t think she could have fallen. Her cage is metal (no rust on it or toys) but she doesn’t bite on it. I am still Thinking it has something to do with the hibiscus branch, but I guess that could be a weird coincidence. My other thought was she had a stroke or that she has a vitamin deficiency. She has always refused all food but seed... I don’t know her age. My students found her at school about a year ago.

I don't see how the hibiscus could be the issue with your bird going blind as every part of a hibiscus plant is safe for birds. A seizure is always a possibility.

I really have no clue... I thought maybe a seizure too. The ointment doesn’t seem to be doing anything other than making her mad... lol. She is eating and I’m making sure she gets water. I guess we’ll see... I just need to clip her wings so she can’t fly anymore... thank you for your responses!
