Hello!
Just a wee note before I start - I have already consulted our vet several times about this and due to covid-19 there are delays in seeing them at the moment, so while we wait I thought i'd see if anyone here has had a similar experience with their budgie and what steps were taken to make them better.
My budgie Thor has been expelling water and loose stool since around October last year (it's crazy how long this has been going on!). We have seen the vet several times and tried treatments for diarrhoea and a UTI (as he has recently started squeaking when passing water) and probiotics. A few of these worked temporarily but it wasn't long before everything went watery again.
For a time, he was drinking lots more water than normal but now he just drinks regularly. He is eating normally and has a healthy, varied diet of seeds and vegetables. He is very chatty and playful, but at the moment he is moulting and is tired and naps a lot (which I think is making me panic a little as he is so inactive - but he is normally like this during moults)
Has anyone had a similar experience with their budgie?
(Our local vets deal with budgies regularly but are not specifically avian vets, however they have a staff member at another branch who is an exotic pet specialist so I'm assuming that the reason they are taking some time to get back to me is because they are consulting her.)

Does your budgie have a lot of veg in their diet, this can make their droppings more watery. My vet once tested one of mine for diabetes. Of course with diabetes you drink more and therefore pee more.

Has anyone considered diabetes? Edit: Sorry clt80, just got to read your own thoughts!

A pin prick of blood to test the sugar.
