I didn't really think about Corvo's coloring other than 'Yellowface Type 2', but I came across a picture that looked exactly like him except with 'opaline' added? But then again, he also has white flight feathers...I know next to nothing about budgie mutations, so does anyone know a specific name for this? Thank you
*Also, I was SHOCKED that he let me get this close to him to take a picture. He sang the whole time I had my hands in his cage.*

I'm sure yellowfacedviolet will be able to tell you. He's a beautiful little bird, sorry I don't know mutations to help you.

To my eye Corvo's a single factor yellowface type 1 opaline sky clearflight pied. And a handsome one.

I see a very pale yellow. Even allowing for 15% dilution caused by opaline, that yellow is much lighter than type 2. BUT, if you're saying that in life that is not the case and that this is a photographic distortion, yes, it could be type 2.
One of the hazards of making these calls based on photos is a situation such as this. In that list of mutations I called for Marianne Marlow 's flock, the one I apparently missed was the easiest, mistaking cobalt for sky, due to photographic influence. It still looks like sky on my monitor.
And it cost me all that $$$, a red sports car and a year's supply of Harrisons.

What is the difference between yellowface type 1 and 2 please, anyone? Type 1 is lemon
Type 2 is buttercup yellow Golden face is golden yellow.
Type 1 in single factor bleeds onto body and wings less than type 2 in single factor.
In double factor, type 1 has NO yellow on the face leaving the face white. And in double factor type 2 bleeds less than it does in single factor.

I need one of those dulux paint colour charts, but for budgies.
Actually Lucy's mutation was the easiest as she is just a sky blue, nothing complex like a yellow face. But I put a new photo of Bertie on my thread to see if you can see the difference now bewteen his Cobalt and her Sky Blue.
My screen also doesn't always show colours correctly.

@sillycat84 I am so glad that I am not the only one that thinks so! Type 1 is lemon

My thoughts would also have been yellow face single factor type 1, judging by those photos, but we know that photos can lie when it comes to budgie colours ... *shrug* I do see a small amount of greenish tinge when I look again. Edit: The opaline and clearflight pied are a given.

According to my monitor I would say sf yellowface type 2. He looks just like my yellow face type 2 in body color - and so can see the plain sky blue contrast at his neckline. Although his face does seem a bit paler than mine too - but I wonder if that has anything to do with him being opaline? I’m learning that a lot of these gene mutations can affect one another in various ways. I don’t know if this is the case with opaline and yellowface, only speculating. Anywho, yellowfaced blues are so pretty! And he’s opaline too, and clearflight! He’s beautiful
