What does it sound like when a budge growls at you? I think Citrine has been growling at me, but I'm not completely sure..
I've heard him "hiss" at Cypress before, but this was different.
I'll try to keep it short..
I had to "catch" the boys to put them in their cage on Wednesday because they were being completely ridiculous teenagers, disrupting me at work, and none of my usual tricks to get them back in were even remotely working.
I do try really hard to avoid ever doing this - but the few times I have had to do it I've apologized and they have forgiven me rather easily..
This time they do not seem to be very forgiving. That evening they were turning their backs and did not want to play with me
The next morning when greeting them and changing water, I heard this faint little "raspy" noise come from Citrine. It was a singular noise, not repetitive. Still, I was afraid it was something respiratory so I held him up by my hear.. I couldn't make out any squeaking or clicking. He was not panting.. he is still eating and pooping well.. no problems flying.. and the noise didn't seem to be frequent. But obviously holding him up to my ear caked him off even more.
He did the raspy noise again this morning, and then I heard it once this afternoon. It's very soft, I only hear it when I am right there by the cage - but I DONT hear it if I hold him by my ear.
I am watching him closely but don't want to worry too soon since there are absolutely no other symptoms.
I'm starting to suspect he is actually growling at me?
Does an irritated/angry budgie sometimes make a faint little buzz/rasp in the back of their throat?
