Hey all. Im wanting to quarantine any new bird I get for Bobby but the only spare cage I have is quite small. Does the size of a quarantine cage matter as the new bird would only be in it for approx 30 days?

it doesnt mater, as long as you give the budgie time out flying ... but not in the same room as bobby....other wise get a bigger cage...

I agree with Mick. Also the 30 day quarantine time is a great time for you and your new budgie to get to know each other and for you to start finger taming, if that is the way you wish to go.

My quarantine cages are same as other breeding cages as budgies spend a t least 4 to 6 weeks in them.

Thanks mick and thanks everyone else. Yes I always try to tame but had no luck with Bobby in the 4 weeks Pepper was in quarantine for. Either I did something wrong or Bobby was saving himself for Pepper lol

By the look of your signature, saving himself for Pepper.
