I am so sorry to hear this ziggi, if you lived in Cumbria I'd foster them for you til your settled again! However, that not being the case, isn't there someone who could foster them for a while til your sorted? They are beautiful and this is such a shame......I do hope that things work out for you and the budgies soon.

I'm sorry too Ziggi, I would be devastated to part with mine. Milliej had a good idea about finding someone to care for them temporarily for you until you are able to find a home for you all!Another possibility to explore would be asking your friends if they'd accept you living there with your budgies on a trial basis before you have to rehome them? Explain to them how upsetting it would be for you to have to rehome them and you'd like it to be a final resort if all else fails

I suggested this as in the '90s we had a similar situation although with a beagle (hound!) not a budgie! We had just lost our rescue and we fostered a beautifully bred male which we could never have afforded to buy. The woman explained that the 'owner' had personal problems and she may want him back. We had him for over a year and it's strange you know but although with us he as good as gold and a well bred boy, when we returned him to his original owner he was like a pup again. Bouncing around and so pleased to see her, after all that time, I knew I'd done the right thing. We then rescued another beagle which we had for over 12 years!

Aww thanks everyone for your kind words and advice I really appreciate it and I'm exploring all possibilities at the moment! I have asked kath this question and thought I would put it to everyone else....would my budgies be happier in an outdoor aviary with other birds are kept indoors together? Also how will they adapt to being outdoors?
Ziggi
