Hi all,
Unfortunately I am having to re-home my budgies, a male and female called Buddy and Betsy. Buddy is 13 months old and Betsy is approximately 16 - 24 months old (not too sure of her age as she was a rescue budgie.)
I am very sad to be re-homing them and want to make sure they go to a loving home where they will hopefully be able to stay for the rest of their lives. I am not going to be re-homing them in a rush as i want to make sure they go to the right family.
If anyone may be interested please get in touch. I live in Greater Manchester.
Thanks
Ziggi

Hi Ziggi
Hope you find a good home for your birds. Why are you letting them go?

Hi Marianne,
I am reluctantly re-homing them as I am separating from my partner and I am having to move. I would love to take them with me but I am moving in with friends and i dont think it will be the best enviroment for them. I think I would be being selfish by keeping them as they need a nice quiet stable home.
I hope I find a good home for them too.

Hi Ziggi,
If you could keep them until the end of April then I would be happy to have them.....as our aviary would be finished by then....if you were ok with them going into an outdoor aviary....
However....are they hand tamed and do they chit-chat.....and do you have pictures.....not that it matters.....just me being curious....

That is a sorry situation to be in and a hard decision to make, Ziggy. I do hope things work out for you and your birds.

Hi Kath/Gaz,
I could keep them until the end of April but not sure about them going into an outdoor aviary...they are currently housed indoors in a large cage....are budgies quite adaptable??? On the one hand it might be nice for them to be outdoors and to mingle with other budgies.
I wouldn't desrcibe them as fully hand tamed. To give you a bit of background information we actually rescued Betsy from the home of a family who were receiving support from the service i work for. She was in a very small cage, in a very noisey house will young children. She understandibly is quite nervous as a result of her experiences. So after doing some research this is why we decided to get het a friend....Buddy. We got Buddy from a breeder so he is alot tamer than Betsy but since being together they have both rubbed off on each other a bit. He was initially stepping onto my finger but has stopped that now (i would say this has more to do with my lack confidence really as i dont want to scare him) although i am still able to put my hand to him and stroke him and he will come to me for food which she also does now as she has got a bit braver. I'm sure with the right amount of time and attention Buddy could become alot tamer. They are beautiful birds and i do have photos....i can upload them on here but not sure how???

Hi Ziggi We have a sticky about inserting a photo somewhere but hope this helps: Inserting a Photo into a Post: You can use the "Choose file" box next to the Attachment in your message to insert a file from your computer. There are also other ways to insert an image. Create an account at one of the free photograph hosting websites such as www.photobucket.com or just upload one to www.imageshack.usYou'll need the url of the image that you uploaded to be pasted into your message. Then highlight that text you just pasted and click the icon in the "Add Tags" that is the fourth along and looks like a little tiny photo in a frame. This will wrap some code around your url and make the image visible in your post!

They are lovely. It's a shame you can't keep them.
