I'm hoping when she meets the flock it might give her the added incentive to be more active and want to join in.
At this late stage in her little life, is it too late for her wing muscles to develop?

I hope she's happier. She's explored pretty much the whole cage and it's only been a couple of hours, she's very brave and curious. jellybean I suppose it's never too late to try and get the muscles working, people can learn to walk again after being in a coma or accident, so I hope she can get at least a little improvement.

Yes @sillycat84 I was thinking the same when I saw the picture - queen of her domain! I hope Penny does get improvement in her muscles. Is she moving, climbing around a lot to strengthen those muscles? Have you tried to see if she'll perch on your finger? We're all cheering you on, Penny!

She climbs a lot. She wont perch on my finger, she gave me nips when I tried, but they were not hard bites just warnings. She will stand on a stick but tries to fly off it and falls, so I can only hold it an inch off the ground or she will hurt herself. So wonderful that she climbs a lot! After she settles in a bit more with, getting proper nutrition and developing her leg muscles more, I wonder if holding her a short distance above something soft and causing her to flap her wings would help those muscles develop? Good that she is with you so you can watch her and help her recover. I find it fascinating to read how much better she's getting.

Her cage set up looks lovely and I'm glad she's getting about more. Does she ever flap her wings in the cage? Even though Dean Stockwell doesn't have very many flight feathers he still likes to hold on to a perch and has a good flap.

No. She's never done that. Her cage set up looks lovely and I'm glad she's getting about more. Does she ever flap her wings in the cage? Even though Dean Stockwell doesn't have very many flight feathers he still likes to hold on to a perch and has a good flap.

Decided to let her meet the gang a day early as we might be going out at some point tomorrow. So far, so good. I let Blithe in as a sort of welcoming party and he had some seed but he and Penny ignored eachother! Iris and Bertie have been over to take a peek too. Penny is very squawky in a "pay attention to me!" sort of way.

A nice "welcome to the gang" for Penny and its great that she is vocal with the others.

I'm sure when the initial surprise of all the new faces subsides, she'll have a ball enjoying all her new friends.

She's found her comfy spot after a hard day squawking for attention. Peter spent the most time over there but I failed to get a photo as he flies off when I come over with my phone. They're all covered now of course

Great news that first introductions went well and Penny looks really settled Marianne Marlow. She’s a lucky girl that you spotted the advert on the last bank holiday.
