Hi! So few days ago I noticed that my male budgie's poop has seeds in them, also he's very lazy and he has no energy he can't even properly stand up He eats fine and drinks water too but he is totally quite and doesn't move much. Since vets are close in my country I asked the guy (Who I brought the budgies from, he also has a lot of budgies) and he said it's normal and my budgie needs vitamins and gave me vitamin syrup which I mix in his water, but it's been 4/5 days but I'm not seeing much improvements. Does anyone know what's happening to him? 😭

Which country are you in?
Your budgie sounds like they really need to see an avian vet if they cannot stand up properly, has no energy and doesn't move much.
Can you call a vet for a consultation either by phone or online and send them photos?

So today I went far to find a vet and one was open I told him everything and he checked my budgie and said it's bcoz of hot weather and he needs vitamins and cold water to drink. I don't know what else to do I'm just gonna wait maybe the vet is right or maybe it's something else idk what else to do 😩

Hi, glad to hear the poops sound better, any luck with pics It's the left one (he's a little white, who's all the way down) he just stays like this all day he tries to stand up but goes back down 😭 I think he's two months and few days old.

Hi, thanks for the pic I cant tell much from it though other than they are beautiful birds. When the vet said it was normal I take it he meant the undigested seeds as thats not unheard of but did they give you any reason for the birds posture/failure to stand. They did check the leg ?

So sorry, everytime I try to take a clear picture of his tummy while holding him he struggles/tries to run away and I feel bad bcoz he's already sick so it's hard to take a clear picture of his bottom area 💔 But yea I told the vet about it and he said that he looks stressed and said that his foot hurts (because he fell in his cage while playing nd hanging upside down) but my other budgie fell in the cage too while playing and she was just limping but went back to normal after 1 week now I have papers on the cage's floor, but I feel like there's something really wrong with him but no one can tell what's happening. I took him to a vet and the guy who breeds budgies and has a lot of budgies he sells them too, but both said that it's normal and he just needs vitamins, which I'm giving him it's been more than a week but nope, no improvement in his posture.

Hi, no dont be sorry should have made it clear not to try if its upsetting him, the pics were so I could try and work out if the leg problem was because he had simply hurt it, they often hold/carry it different to when its a symptom of other problems and it sort of hangs and the fall seems to clear that up. The poop pic was because it can be deceiving and heard of a few times in the past where its been found that the seeds simply landed on the poop during feeding or even seen pics when it was just husks blown on it, please dont think I was disbelieving you but always best to check.

I’m sorry you are having concerns with your little bird. Looking at the photo, I think all three look a little under the weather. Whatever you do for one, I would do for all three. If it has been really hot, make sure they are drinking well and there is this solution you can replace their water with of drop into their beaks to give them some extra energy.
Electrolyte solution:
Home-made Lactated Ringers electrolyte solution for sick birds (rehydration)
• 8oz warm water • ½ tablespoon sugar • 1/8 teaspoon salt • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
Mix all together in a jar, stir well and refrigerate. Will keep for 2-3 days in fridge.
Hopefully all it is is the hot weather and the birds are a little dehydrated, and they should recover fine.

No no ofcourse I didn't mean it that way 😅 I also want to take pictures of his foot so I can show some people who are good with these things yk it'll be great if someone can tell what's wrong with him 💕 So today he sat up for few seconds and I took few pictures of his foot. The quality is not good but I hope you can tell if they look normal 👀

That fact that he has three claws forward says that there is something wrong with that foot. Are you able to manipulate his toes so that back claw is going in the right direction? If he was sitting on a perch, his front two claws should be in front of the perch and the back two around the back of the perch. Don’t try to move the toe with any force, just see if you can easily move it back behind him. Sometimes all it needs is a little physio and massage to get a toe to consistently point in the right direction.
