Hi all, I'm new to this forum
I would like to know what colour stool is healthy for budgie?
We feed him mainly seed mix & our budgies 'normal' colour is like a light lime green
On google it says this is considered normal because of the seed diet but others say stuff about liver disease which worries me
Is this something I should be concerned about in general?

The color and consistency of budgies poops does vary with the food they are eating but can also be influenced by their general health. Could you tell us a bit more about him? Is he singing and playing normally? Does he get out of the cage to fly around regularly? How old is he? My budgies poop is typically dark brown/black with the solid white urinates. When they've been eating more freak veggies, it becomes more greenish in color and more liquidy. You can also post pictures of his poop.
Budgies need food other than seeds. I suggest you start by offering him leafy greens such as lettuces. Many budgies enjoy broccoli and carrot tops and various fresh herbs such as basil, rosemary, dill. Don't give him anything in the onion family such as garlic and chives as that is toxic to budgies. You will need to be patient and keep giving it to him as he discovers it is good.
We'd love to see pictures of him. Welcome to the forum.

Normal budgie poop is dark - almost black - dry, with a certain amount of white urates. Green is not healthy poop, but could be due to any number of reasons. How long have you had your bird? Stress is a big factor in affecting poop colour and consistency, so if you have only recently brought him into your house, this could be why his poop is not as it should be. Introduce vegetables into his diet as soon as you can, but not those that consist mostly of water, such as cucumbers and zucchini, even lettuce unless it is of the dark leafed variety. A change in his diet will also affect his poop in the short term, but this should right itself as he becomes adjusted to his new foods.
