If anyone wants to see some more lovely scenery: Something we didn'texpect to see: Whanganui River - one of the few deep water rivers we saw: Out of rolling green hills appears a mountain covered in snow: Mt Ruapehu Mt Ruapehu the next morning, from the other side: Mt Ngauruhoe, along the road a little. The only part of New Zealand we saw that wasn't grassy green - it was almost desert-like: Lake Taupo behind us and the previous mountains on the other side of the lake: Rotorua. Cam not impressed with his namesake, A little Moari culture: A little geothermal activity:

Rotorua smells so bad!
My brother lives on a green farmlet just below Mt Ruapehu. It's beautiful.

Wonderful pics Hezz It looks like an amazing place to take a holiday. I especially like the pic of Whanganui River. I can only begin to imagine the animal life that exists between land and water in that pic alone:)

Most of their wildlife is in the sea. But they did get some cool birds - kiwis are pretty cute really, and the kea is also intriguing.

Wow, you got some nice shots of Ruapehu! He's not always keen to show his face Thanks, Char. Somehow we thought might be the case. In fact when the cloud started lifting I was like "the clouds lifting, get photos now". but luckily for us it stayed that way while we were around. He certainly hammed it up for the tourists this time! ;D
