Buddy is my friendly little boy. When I bob my head at him, hold out my arm and make kissy noises, he'll fly over onto my hand, fluff up and kiss my thumbnail. My skittish Tweetie Pie doesn't do that. He'll just watch Buddy. A couple of times he has come over and "tasted" my thumbnail. He'll give Buddy a look that says "I don't get it" and then fly off. A couple of times when Buddy was on my finger, Tweetie Pie flew over, perched on my finger, got tall and skinny and pecked at Buddy until he flew off and Tweetie Pie also flew off. Yesterday Buddy was on my finger, fluffed up and kissing away. Tweetie Pie flew onto my hand , used his foot and pushed Buddy off! He then flew away. What was that!!! When they are out of the cage I put their food dishes over by their play gym. Hezz once posted that her budgies have to queue up for a kiss before they come out which I think is adorable. I decided to train my guys to get on my arm and be taxied over to their food when they first come out or when I give them fresh food. Buddy got the idea right away but I had to take Tweetie Pie off the food dish a few times before he got the idea. Is Tweetie Pie telling me he is the alpha bird and I'm not by pushing Buddy off my hand?

Sounds like a touch of jealousy to me. That’s MY mum! He might not want kisses but he doesn’t want Buddy to get them either.

I agree with Marianne’s interpretation - “Buddy don’t be daft; get away from the human, you never know where she has been!” TP’s reactions and personality are much more henny than Buddy’s.

It appears that you and Marianne are correct. Yesterday, Buddy came onto my hand but didn't immediately start kissing me. He turned and looked at Tweetie Pie. TP was perched and just looked back but didn't make any movement to come, so Buddy kissed away. At a different time, they were both perched outside and I put my head down at their level. Buddy started kissing my nose and chewing my glasses. TP stepped closer and chewed my glasses a bit. Its always been a challenge to get my skittish little guy to accept me.
