Do they use the same nest Hezz or build new every year? They like to be near the house like my little robins, we had two clutches this year in the same spot near my back door

They like to be near the house like my little robins, we had two clutches this year in the same spot near my back door This is the third clutch in this nest, skysmum. It had been dormant for a long time but looks like it is back in favour again. . Mum rebuilt it last year and raised two babies (only ever two at most). I was really lucky to witness the first chick leave the nest for his maiden flight. Mum and Dad kept a close eye on him out and about and showed him around the garden while the other chick cheeped away madly from the nest. Later that afternoon the nest was empty. Yes, they like being close to the house, like your little robins. Keeps them that little bit safer from the wretched butcher birds. Glad your robins have done well, too; in the teapot?

Bless them, it's nerve racking isn't it . I was curious about the nest because apparently robins don't like to use the old nest, i should have cleared the teapot out from last year, they were checking it out but decided to use the fir tree just behind the teapot, they built a different nest for the second clutch too, fussy We had four in the first nest in February, it was freezing at night , the second clutch was thankfully around April when it was warmer. One of babies fledging

Aww, too sweet. Our little nest seems to be empty now - they grow up so fast! Admittedly I was a little slow posting the photo in the beginning so they were a bit older than that at the time. I’m fairly sure that Bub, or bubs, matured and fledged and not ended up as butcherbird food as they tend to wreak the nest getting to the chicks, and the nest is still intact. Fingers crossed 🤞.
