Thanks for all the thoughts and crossed fingers. Once he flew away that day I haven’t heard him since. Unfortunately there are a lot of trees around us so getting a line of sight from him to his cage, food, and the other budgies was difficult but we managed it, parked up in the neighbour’s yard most of the day. The angle may have been too steep for him but was the best I could do. If there is an news I’ll update for sure. rose, I’ve thought of you and poor Marshie so much over the past week.

Oh Hezz, I'm so sorry to read this. I can only imagine how awful it must feel. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) OH has nightmares about such things. I hope Misty at least finds somewhere safe.

I'm so sorry Hezz I hope that someone finds him and gives him a good home if he can't find his way back to you.

rose , I’ve thought of you and poor Marshie so much over the past week. ... though hopefully in Misty's case there will be a happy outcome! As criswell says, there's always the chance someone will find him and give him a good home - though ideally he'll make his way back to you ...

I worry that even if he does find a home he will not get the grass he needs, or the milk thistle for his fatty liver, and they won’t know how to look after his sinus infection. All these health issues were being managed and he had been doing so well.

I'm so sorry hezz.
I have been in this situation, OH had opened a cage door to clip a poorly lillian's long nail and she flew out with Percy through an open back door. OH and I did posters, rang vets, searched etc. My hope was as they were use to humans so they would approach them. I remember the emotion and feelings I had when OH told me what had happened, so I understand when you say it's harder than losing them to an illness. It's the not knowing.
Majority of my budgies as you know we're from the RSPCA and they'd come across most of them as stray budgies people had found and taken to them. One flew into a school classroom, another flew into a mechanics garage. They are smart birdies, and I'm praying for Misty's return to you xx

It’s the not knowing, you’re right, clt80. Thank you all for your commiserations. Of the birds, Spyro seems the most lost. Those two were together for almost all their lives. I’ve done the vets, lost and found FB pages, and many people who I don’t know have shared the post on other pages and groups as well, which is lovely. Walked the neighbourhood, played budgie sounds, knocked on doors of people I don’t know. Nothing, except for the text on Sat that wasn’t him after all.
