She is probably unsettled at the lack of feathered company by the sound of it, bless her. Maybe your hair is the nearest alternative. I agree with Marianne Marlow and getting her to eat takes priority so it’s definitely worth trying her with one of your boys. I think Munchy sounds a good option. Hopefully they’ll quickly bond and it’ll make her introduction to the rest of the flock easier as she’ll already have a friend. I’m sure once she’s eating by herself everything will run smoothly. They just like to keep us on our toes.

She apparently likes preening hair anyway, ariella, but yes, it could be. I think it's partly that humans are the main thing she recognises as being safe and then the head is the highest point. She was so determined to sit on my head that she ignored my offered palmful of seeds to keep jumping back up. She's in bed for the night so I can't weigh her but I can do so tomorrow. I'll measure the Hagen Vision and see if the height of it will fit in the wardrobe. Sadly I don't think that it does. It would be better for housing two than the travel cage. We're in work again tomorrow but possibly in the evening we can introduce someone to her. Or Wednesday before/after Munchy's vet trip.

Bless little Gwen. Let’s hope she’ll feel more comfortable tomorrow and will start to eat spontaneously to save you the worry of introductions.

I hope you can find a way to get Gwen to eat. Maybe she's unsettled because of her past experiences at the petshop. Hopefully she'll soon realise that being with you is a good and safe place to be.

If she isn’t eating, and it sounds as though a friend might help, be prepared to break quarantine. If it is company, or lack of, that is causing her lack of appetite, perhaps before breaking quarantine try one of the boys in a cage in the room but away from her and watch her reaction. If she goes bonkers, then maybe a reshuffle of cages is order so that she can share for a while. i would choose the bird that you feel is the hardiest, since her poops aren’t good. Has she been vet-checked lately or at all? It might be worth it for peace of mind if you feel you do need to give her company. There just may be something else going on that you aren’t aware of.

Thanks Hezz. I might call up today and see if I can possibly take her along tomorrow for a check up. I have a separate carrier for Munchy because she's taking up the travel cage, so could keep them separated. If I explain her lack of appetite then they should let me take her in as an emergency I would have thought. If it's a hardy bird, probably Indie would be the best bet. He's weathered through the others being poorly and maintains his weight well. He's also pretty gregarious.

How has Gwen been today? I hope she has given in and found the food pots to stop you worrying!

Alas not. :/ She briefly played with a shredding toy this morning so I was hopeful. But no. She definitely feels thinner today than yesterday. Little madam.

What a worry. Did the vet see her?

It'll be tomorrow. Fortunately OH passed his driving test, managed to book the day off, and borrow the car, so we don't have to taxi up and train back this time.
