Someone on fb told me this is french moult? About a month old...

I think it's impossible to tell if a bird has French moult at such a young age, the feathers are still growing and developing.
What do others think? Looks a gorgeous little bird.

I would expect to see more proper feathers on 1 month old budgie, unless they are the runt of the nest and growing slowly.

A four week old should at least be showing flight feathers and a little tail, but if as Marianne suggests it is the runt of the clutch, then a few more weeks may show a different picture.

I have to agree that it could be French molt. Most month old babies at least have an even growth of pin feathers opening up all around even if they are a bit slower to feather out. Hopefully this baby will be able to maintain a strong immune system and not have too hard a time of it, but if handled often from here on out will definitely make a very sweet companion!
