We get our TV from Virgin and it went down this morning. My boys have the TV on all day so it was a bit of shock to them. I tried just playing them music but that wasn't got enough - they just sat there totally quiet. So I put on Frozen DVD and they were instantly hopping about and chirping. So it seems they need the pictures as well as the sound!
After that I could access recorded content on our Virgin box so they had the eurovision song contest. By this evening we had a few channels back so they watched Pointless and House of Games, and the strictly dancing show that was on after that but they were not impressed when that turned into snooker. I had to keep popping back in to the room to change the channel for them. They are now watching Frozen again. It's their favourite film.
I've noticed that they are much better behaved when we are watching something that they don't like. They just go quiet rather than squawking their heads off so it seems it was Randolph Carter that protested the most. There is generally less shouting now there is just the two of them.

Now that's what you call spoilt , mine have always had radio 4, they prefer someone talking rather than music, over the years mine would get very vocal and excited when the Archers came on

I don’t think Max even looks at the tv, but when I tried the radio instead, it bothered him

ffiscool It's interesting that Max prefers the TV too. I think mine like the movement in the background rather than actually looking at it. Maybe it makes the room feel more crowded. I think they treat the TV as part of their flock. My boys also go quiet when I fast forward. I have had to resort to playing music for them while we watch TV shows that aren't entertaining enough for them otherwise they'd just shout louder than the TV. They really are spoilt! I love hearing about other budgies preferences. I doubt my boys would like classic FM or Radio 4 but just because that's not what they expect. Criswell expected TV so it was already the background noise when each of the rest of them joined the flock.

Mine have radio 2 on. They seem to go quiet when Jeremy Vine is on. Not sure if they’re interested in the debates or bored…

They’re not in a room with a tv and as much as I love them I’m not going to wheel them into the living room to watch Eggheads each evening through the week.

Lol. I just wondered if his voice on there would turn them off too

My boys object most to anything with just one voice talking - like the news. The noisier the better as far as they are concerned. One male voice is their very least favourite.

Mine have the radio on all day, and those inside do too. But for the ones inside I noticed in an evening when the tv is on they love adverts and make a real din getting all excited.

Mine like both radio (smooth radio) and TV. They certainly make more noise when the TV is on though 😂
