Charlie likes both too, and the louder the better. He makes us laugh because if we turn the sound down he goes quieter too….So we tell people when they come to the house that we have a remote control for Charlie, because if we point the remote control at him and turn the TV down, he goes quieter as well. He talks a LOT and really well, but it’s hard to record him because he won’t talk as much when it’s quiet….Ideas anyone? 😀

suesbird When I'm out of the room I leave Now 70s channel on the TV and they love it. I've tried them with Now 80s but they don't like that. You can't beat a bit of glam rock. If Now 70s is doing love songs they get a bit shouty so I switch them over to Now Christmas which gets them singing again.

If you can have the TV not too loud, and then say your phone on video, but just near to Charlie, rather than filming him, you should pick it up. I used to put my phone onto video, but have it just lying on the sofa, if he was nearby

Criswell liked the hoover too. I always tried to make sure he was shut in his cage before I hoovered but if he was out he'd come over to watch.
I know someone who accidentally hooverd up her gerbil while cleaning the tank with them in it. They were busy at the other side of the tank until one of them dashed over to the hoover pipe. The gerbil was unharmed but the owner was distraught about what happened.

I worried about that with Criswell too. I made sure I could see him before I moved.

Tweetie Pie and Buddy like talk radio rather than music and seem ambivalent about the tv, maybe because its talking with music in the background. They enjoy the radio shows with two people talking rather than one person. Usually when I leave the house, I turn on the music station so maybe that's why they don't care about music - it means I'm not there. Lately I've been leaving the talk radio on when I leave. When I come home, as I enter the house I shout out "mommy's home" and Buddy yells out to me.

Mine love the hoover too. There’s no point anyone phoning me when I’m hoovering and in with the budgies as I can’t hear a thing over their chatting and the Dyson.

tweetiepiesmom Criswell used to call for me as soon as he heard the front door opening. Nowadays my boys go quiet when they hear the door open. I call out hello to them and they start chattering again.

Pip calls out when I come in. As soon as the key goes in the door he starts.

Misty loved Scottish music but hated classical. I tried opera once & he just looked confused! Brodie’s favourite was Absolute radio.
