Blithe came to us in May 2014 at the age of 6 months. A lady called Tatiana had posted on the forum for someone to rehome him because he was a bit too boisterous for her old budgie Jet. Blithe spent a lot of his first few weeks chasing budgies to try and make friends with them, mostly Hector. Blithe became good friends with Sky and in later years, Bertie. Yesterday I noticed that Blithe was breathing a bit hard and his tail was moving when he breathed. Today I managed to get a vet appointment for him, but when we gave him his first dose of meds he passed away, he was 8 years old and had a good life, but I wanted him to live a bit longer. Fly high Blithe, we will miss you. Bertie has not moved since Blithe died and we're all so sad Blithe and his best friend Bertie.

Oh Blithe! How could you leave us so soon? Must Rainbow Bridge claim so many of our precious budgies this year? I hope Bertie perks up soon. No doubt he misses his friend. Sorry for your loss, Marianne. He received the best care and love during his life with you. Fly high, Blithe! Go find all of Marianne's former flockmates and share tales of your wonderful human. x

It's been heartbreaking recently with the passing of all these gorgeous little souls.
I'm so sorry Marianne, I hope the flock rally round to cheer Bertie up.
Fly high little fella 💙

So sad to read this. Blithe had the best home possible with you and Bertie. Just reminds me how quickly they can go. I know you miss you friend, Bertie, but Marianne Marlow has other birdies that will welcome you as a friend!

Oh goodness, it all sounds so sudden. I’m really sorry Marianne Marlow. It’s so so hard to say goodbye to our feathered babies. My heart really cries out to their buddies and I hope Bertie will be okay. Fly high Blithe. You were rehomed by the very best family for you and loved so much. x

For Christmas I had ordered a perch to go on my table, so that budgies could visit if they wanted. I was primarily thinking of Blithe as he was the only one that would willingly step on to my hand if I held it out. I feel so sad

Gorgeous photo Marianne Marlow. I’m sure Blithe is delighted to be reunited with Hector and Billybob at Rainbow Bridge.

I really hope some of the others will make use of it instead. It’s hard when we lose anyone at any time of the year but it seems especially poignant at Christmas. Sending you a hug.

I'm so sorry Marianne Marlow. It's such a shock for you to lose Blithe so quickly and it's so sad. Blithe couldn't have wished for a better life than he had with you and all his friends. Hugs to all of you. I hope Bertie is being comforted by the others.
