Hi Everyone, I need help identifying the budgie on the right side (dark eyed clear white - I hope I am correct on this). My guess is that "she's" a female because most of the identification notes state that males have a pinkish purplish cere but never blue. I think that "she" is at most 9 months old. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

He's likely a double factor spangle and a boy.

He's likely a double factor spangle and a boy. Thanks. What identifications did you use to reach that conclusion? I'm new to budgies and since this one isn't a normal one, it's confusing the heck out of me.

He's white with a blue cere, so I couldn't think of anything else he could be I have had two double factor spangles and they were the same, also had a bit of a blue tinge to belly feathers mostly. He's likely a double factor spangle and a boy. Thanks. What identifications did you use to reach that conclusion? Also I think that if the budgie was a dark eyed clear, they would not have iris rings, whereas a double factor spangle does.
Your budgie has iris rings.

Maybe philbot can help with that … does he have iris rings? There may be just the beginning there that I can see. I don’t think there is any doubt he is actually a he, so that does rule out him being a dark-eyed clear with that blue cere.

I tried looking for them a month ago but didn't really see any. Are they supposed to be so lightly colored? My other budgie has pretty obvious irises that cannot be mistaken for a reflection.

I think they are meant to have proper light irises at 8 months, so is it possible he's younger than 9 months?

I think they are meant to have proper light irises at 8 months, so is it possible he's younger than 9 months? We got him in July and we were told that he was about 4 months old at the time. I wasn't the one who purchased him so I can't be sure. If only I took more interest in budgie genetics, I would have made sure to ask more questions. Is there an issue having 2 males? Would they be more inclined to fight?

No, two males should get on just fine.
