All they want is to bite. I have been following the instructions from earlier forum posts and immediately letting them off when they do so..
Milli wants to play with me, but sometimes she gets very cranky and tries to bite my hand. She also doesn't like it when I clean the cage.. it gives a feeling sometimes that they don't like my hand inside their cage.. Milli does the wrestling game with my finger.. but they both fight too a lot (screaming so far as arguments, but no physical fights). At night and morning, they become best friends again preening each other and all..
Milli has learnt to fly to a small stick inside the cage. I have been wanting to train them for out of cage..
Both of them are moulting and it's a terrible moult.. Milli's feather quality isn't good, but I love the new feathers coming in. Her tail feather was cut by a scissor when she came in.. I'm wondering if her tail will grow back long.. have seen her with short tail since so long..
The good part is they eat *everything* !!!! I haven't seen them reject any food I have given them so far.. they took to egg also very easily.. all green leafy veggies, grasses, soft food, egg food, veggie chop, dried flowers, dried herbs... everything. I took this opportunity to introduce them to all the variety available..
Both of them are super funny and adorable..

One of those rare moments when they don't fight during the day....

mona it is so nice to hear how they are getting on and it sounds like they are doing really well. The biting sounds quite like Finlay. Also keen to be on my hand but vicious when she decides to chew at it. That has slowly improved though with time so hopefully Milli will too! The video of then being friendly is lovely.

I would think that Milli's tail feather will come in normal and long. Its great that they will eat everything and are good friends. Even my boys have the occasional squabble so I wouldn't worry about it too much since they aren't hurting each other. They may just be in a "biting" phase. My Buddy went through that and stopped and I've read on this forum that others have budgies that have gone through that. Maybe for now you shouldn't play the finger wrestling game with Milli. I've also read that the hens are very territorial so maybe that's why they don't like your hand inside cleaning. Do they come out of the cage? That would be a good time to clean it. Otherwise, keep the cleaning sessions short and do it as quickly as possible.
The video of them is so cute and they look wonderful together.

It’s so lovely to see them both mona. They look gorgeous. Hens are more bitey than males but I think they’ll be extra cranky when moulting. Hopefully it’ll lessen as their new feathers come in. It’s so good they like eating everything.

tweetiepiesmom They look very possessive about everything that's in the cage.. I have never seen other female birdies with me or mom doing that. They don't come out of cage yet.. I try to keep the cleaning session short, except the deep cleaning day. I'm sure they know by now that my hand not edible 🙈 They guard the ladder and a couple of things with their life. I don't want them to get super attached to toys or things if that can create issue with them.. we have changed the cage layout twice..

Oh my, that sounds stressful. Maybe Hezz can give you an educated opinion on how often you give then new toys? I think its not a good thing for them to become very attached to their toys but I don't know for sure.

Perhaps once they’re out, it will be different

I change toys around every two weeks, and perches on the alternate two weeks.

They both are not biting anymore! Adjusted with the flock. They come out to play as well now in the bird room..
Milli stays in the cage though these days. She has lost almost all the feathers except her head and wings. She is eating and keeping constant weight.
