They are all very beautiful. Do they sleep every day in these swings?

LOL.
As soon as I walk up to the cage with their 'jamas (cover) every evening and say 'budgie bedtime, time for 'jamas', they mostly all jump up to a swing - usually the boys first (they like to be beside each other) and Jimi displays his mating prowess with his swing, then the girls sort themselves and I put the cover on. (Jimi always does this if he is on his swing and I am at the cage - the swings are at my eye level).
Of course the girls 'ack ack' if they are left to get on a swing next to each other. Often Carpet (who is small compared to the other 3) turfs one of the big boys off their chosen swing then the arguments begin. By then they are covered and we sit and giggle imagining the dramas going on:) They usually sort themselves out and settle, it is just the occasional time I have to intervene if it sounds too serious. (Just like my children were at bedtime when they were little:) If the budgies are too noisy my husband shouts 'Hoi, settle down now' and, funnily enough, they stop arguing!
Joss, who is the matriarch and complete boss, has a very favourite swing and often goes to bed early so she can have her favourite place, but if any of the others grab it first she is tolerant and sits on a perch in the huff for a while then calmly settles herself next to one of the boys (she doesn't really like being beside Carpet and scolds her every time she moves).
I love budgie bedtime, it is good fun. I love in the mornings when I take their 'jamas off and they are all on their swings looking sleepy and cute. They usually sit there while I refill their seed dishes and change the water.

I love the picture of them all on their swings. It looks like a very "equal" arrangement. Imagine the squabbles if the swings were different types & at different heights!

Very tactful, Lupin....... four swings identical for four very different budgies. They are all very lovely. But so funny with their nighttime squabbles. I wonder if other parrots make such a to-do about who and how and which one when it comes to settling for the night?

What a wonderful story lupin! Can just imagine them settling down for the night - as for your husband telling them to settle down, my partner used to do that with Mont if she kicked up at night - it went well to begin with...until she learnt how to answer back!

Love the multiple swing beds. It's like boarding school for budgies with all their little beds all in a row.

LOL Stace - boarding school for budgies:) Actually I suppose it is really!
When I got this cage, I drove poor husband mad with the swing arrangement. At first it was just Jimi and Joss in it, then I got the other two a year later and was determined that when quarantine was over and they were all in together, they all must have an identical swing at exactly the same height with the same spacing between them.

Lovely story and pic's and sensible! My two often squabble over a particular swing! There are two but one is yellow and one is brown (I mean can budgies have colour fancies?) but one also has a little err swinging top thing attached which Sid loves to hide behind and play with. I don't think Mischief would play with it as she doesn't play nearly as much as Sid, she just want's to be there because he is!! I'll have to try and find another the same and see what happens. Mind they haven't been on their boing yet
