Not the best start to the new year, Fran, but hopefully you have gotten something positive to work with and even better may be home by now. Fingers crossed, anyway.

Hi, I just woke up, gutted lol as I thought it was morning, but only 2 hours after I went to sleep, now wide awake and the snorers….,
So no anti biotics, no idea why. But I’m down to see a doc app who might be able discharge me. I’ll wait, see what my sats are and if they’ve given me an antibiotic. If it’s one I’ve had before, I will discharge myself. If it’s not and I have an hour say, I’ll know if it bothers me. I’ll ask for a back up one that I know may not be as effective, that I can take.
I need to sleep and be at home. I know steroids will help my breathing.
It also depends on if they’ve definitely decided what it is as it was open to two diff/bits of both things.
That’s why I need see someone else. When I was in here with sepsis, every day was a different theory for a week. But there was only one actual cause
If I said this earlier, sorry, but it sort of amused me. Again back to when I was in before, had a nurse who I kept asking for my pills from. I went out to find her and she was spraying perfume, to walk into it to get the smell on her
Yes, lo and behold, she’s here. The smell is so strong, on a coughing ward lol.
From all I’m saying, I really don’t know better, but even the sister said, for some in here, it’s not better if you just need meds as rest and sleep are a big part too. My frustration, annoyance is raising my bp and lack of sleep is never healing

Just went to the loo and saw the sister. She said it’s on my notes I need antibiotics. She too couldn’t work out why nothing prescribed as it’s nearly 24 hours since scan and decision to give. If they’d even started me off on the one I can take that he said would work, I’d have had a head start. They badly need my bed, I could been sorted. To go

It's bad that a nurse is spraying perfume in a ward where people have compromised respiratory systems. You think she'd know better.

No, doc I hope here soon. But means still more time no antibiotics. I’m fuming

Sounds so frustrating! To wake up and be disappointed it wasn’t the morning must have been dreadful. A few hours of IV antibiotics would probably have made a huge difference. I expect that nurse is the sort to have a full face of make up too! I’ve been in hospital with various family members a lot with various illnesses and emergencies and have really noticed there are always a couple who turn up with their make up done and hair styled. I’ve seen so many at the nurses station brushing hair or touching up their lipstick too. I wouldn’t want to have to worry about my mascara running or so on if I was working in hospital, especially under current circumstances when masks have been worn when otherwise they were probably limited more to surgery and infectious cases/immune-affected patients.
Hope the Drs have done their morning rounds and you now know what’s what. How are you feeling in yourself other than tired and wound up? How is your breathing?

Weekends are always slower in hospital, that is what I have found when I have been in.

Yes, found that out a few years ago when someone had a stroke on Good Friday and there were no consultants on over the BH and the patient had to wait until Tuesday for a scan. We were so shocked and I didn’t realise that was the norm.

Apparently this is the discharge doctor. Not normal doing rounds. But the sister put me on the list. He won’t have a clue about meds.
Yes, exactly, but negligent actually that I’ve not been given anything
My breathing is fine when sitting. It’s not bad when walking and is erratic. I could do stairs other day, totally easily. AnOther day no. I think there’s junk there (hence anti b) and it moves.
My oxygen is ok as on oxygen. But steroids should sort that
My bp is coming down, not always a good sign with me, as goes low, it’s an indication of not being well
So, if he knows nothing about anti b, I’m still going as given tomorrow is a BH, it won’t get sorted then either.

I’m going home. I don’t need any meds!!! It’s to go with covid still. If my o2 low in half hour with no additional help, they’ll arrange for me to have oxygen at home. So in theory I could have gone yesterday!
She said she’s referring me to chest dept and see.
I’ll see my guy anyway as he’ll have direct comparison with old before and after scans
Thanks all, been really nice to be able to offload and ramble and moan

Yay! I am so glad you're well enough to go. Did they say what your sats are?
