I'm glad you are starting to feel better. Having all this bureaucracy to deal with is not what you need when you're feeling unwell.

My gp has only given me steroids until Monday as she a) wants to see how my sats are and b) she wants consultant to see me without meds
So lucky with her, she phoned me twice this week now

when I had sepsis two years ago, it was technically her fault that turned into her really making a difference.
I had been to the hospital out of hours GP the night before, as 111 didn't ring me back for 4 hours during the night and then I rang against they sorted out of hours. I felt really sick and ill and as I am so bad with anti biotic, I thought it was them. the hospital gp had said I had high marker for infection, but I didnt realise til after, they should have also taken my blood pressure and it would have been rock bottom. I would have know that was not right as it is always high, plus I hadn't been to the loo.
anyway... the surgery said the doc would ring me back by 1pm. I rang again after that and they said ring again about 3 - anyway, she rang me and apologised..s he had missed me from the list. When I was talking to her, she said I did not sound right and could I go down there. I said I can't drive and had no money.. she said get a cab and then they will sort. anyway, one of my neighbours was in, so I borrowed money.
got to the surgery, not sure how as I could just about walk, in pain and a bit out of it
she took one look, took my bp which she could just about find.. called an ambulance and said it is def sepsis
had she rung me back in the morning and changed my anti biotic, I hate to think
so a mistake there, saved me from being iller etc
but she is good.. she does care and when I saw her after that a few weeks later in the supermarket, she asked me how I was and what had happened

That sounds like a very scary experience. I'm glad that it turned out okay!

I was lucky but hadn’t realised how bad as I didn’t know about sepsis as such. Plus only when I had the op and saw cons, he said they took days to get on top of the infection
I was v lucky

Thanks heavens you persisted in phoning the surgery again when you didn’t receive your call. What a horrible thing to go through.

When I was in this time, the woman opposite me had dementia, not badly but enough to think odd things. She had no one fighting her corner so to speak. Upsets me as it needed fighting I think. But thank goodness I’m not in a) that position and b) I don’t let things go and wasn’t ill enough, not to not bother

I’m ok thanks. I can feel the need to cough again as off meds now, so I reckon I will get more on Friday. It could be I needed more than 5 days worth, but it’s not bad, so I’m hoping it’s ok by Friday, although he would just prescribe more and maybe do a scan same day
