I have a little rhyme that I say to each of my cages of birds (all 4) at bedtime before their cover goes on.
This is it - don't laugh!
"Bedtimes for budgies, budgie bedtimes, bedtimes for budgies, budgie bedtimes. It's bedtime for Monty, bedtime for Snowy, bedtime for Sky and it's bedtime for Lilek. Bedtimes for budgies budgie bedtimes, bedtimes for budgies budgie bedtimes. Night night Monty, night night Snowy, night night Sky, Night night Lilek. Sleep well, see you in the morning be good."
Long isn't it!
Do you have one??

That is soo funny. Just as well the outside world don't hear us, they would think we are mad. Here is mine. Tweet, tweet, tweet ! It's time to go to sleep! Tweet tweet tweet! Kiwi is so sweet!! I keep repeating this until he falls asleep, either through complete boredom, or he is just faking it to get me to shut up Ha! Ha! Ha! I am cringing at myself ;D ;D ;D

I don't have a rhyme as such, but a definite bedtime routine.. I say, "It's night night time Pepito!" and show him his cage cover. He jumps on his swing (where he likes to sleep). I say, "Say night night Granny!" and Mum says, "Night night Pepito!" Then I cover him up. A moment or two later he makes a long squeak that sounds a bit like "niiiiight!" Which is so cute that Mum and I both go a bit gooey... I'm finding it very amusing and encouraging that I'm not the only one with a slightly soppy budgie bedtime routine! ;D

I don't have a rhyme as such but do go through the same routine. These days, it starts with me pleading with Atilla to come away from the back of the chair (her latest favourite chewing spot) as Cagney & Bezukhov want to go to bed...

I always say goodnight to each one then say "if you don't sleep then Mr Sandman won't come" then after about 5mins it's all quiet.

If you must make us expose our mad birdie secrets!
Boo usually takes himself off to bed after popping over to me to say a quick goodnight with a beak bump. He pops off to a favourite spot and starts his beak grinding, often on his little swing. I don't cover him right then, as he likes to settle in for a while.
After about 30 mins he makes a little faint peep. That means he's now ready for his cover to go on and could we please turn the telly down and dim the lights.
And the routine is:
"Are you ready for bed, buds? Are you ready for bed?"
This is his cue to be certain he's in the spot he wants to sleep. If he wants to move, he then pops off his swing and makes his wiggling way to wherever is his favourite sleep position of the moment, and gets himself comfy.
As the cover goes on I softly tell him:
"It's bedtime for birdies, buddy. Bedtime for birdies. Nighty night little one. It's bedtimes, bedtimes. Nighty night little one."

Nothing so involved: "C'mon chooklets, time for bed" Like they have a choice as they are already in their cage........ wheel them outside........ leave for a bit then come back, "okay, cover's going on now, Smudge, leave Blue alone! Don't be such a b***h! C'mon Blue, on your perch, You right now? Okay, good night brat-birds" And the cover goes on.

Agree with Stace and Outnumbered, if anyone heard our budgie antics they would think we would need locking up! As for Mont's she always went quiet and started beak grinding the same time every night, so I would then go over to cover her and then she would think it is play time and start on her swing?! But would get her to come to her favourite perch say "c'mon Mont's it's night nights time now" would get a head wobble at my little finger then I would cover her for the night. Sad isn't it?!!! ;D

The cover goes half on for a while to settle them. When I decide its bed time I say "Beddy buys for Mummy's cutie guys." Can't believe I'm 'fessing up to it, ha ha!! Sometimes a little extra is needed if there is silliness going on... and there often is!
