Hello and welcome to Marchs' Budgerigar of the Month contest! I am Rachael, your contest organiser.
The contest begins today and you can submit your entries to me by messaging me on the forum or submitting your entry by email to rachaelkellett@hotmail.com All entries must be submitted to me by no later than midnight on Sunday 25th March.
We are going to try things a little differently this month. We will hold voting polls for all the entries as usual but at the end of the poll we will be having a SURPRISE guest judge to choose between the top three favourite entries. All will be revealed about the special guest judge very soon ;D
Now onto the boring RULES part ;D
Only one entry is allowed per member so make your choice carefully as once your entry has been recieved and added to the contest entries thread then it cannot be exchanged.
Photographs entered must be of budgerigars and be of good quality, which means no unfocused, blurry, or grainy shots. Other species of birds may be allowed in the photo as long as the budgerigar is the main focus.
Each month there will be a theme so any entry that the contest organiser does not feel matches the theme will not be accepted. If, for any reason, you disagree with the organisers decision then another member will be brought in to give a second opinion although I doubt that will ever be needed
Your entry must not have any enhancements such as sparkly emoticons, exposure correcting, or text, although cropping within reason will be allowed.
The winner of this months contest will get to choose the theme for the April contest.
Now the winner of Februarys' contest was Gaile and her lovely Bella ;D Here is the winning photograph:
There will be no big prize this month as we, the staff, have decided to have "For fun" contests every other month. This is to keep things simpler and so that we don't have to approach companies as often However the winner of this months contest will be displayed on our facebook page for the whole of April and will also be added to the winners gallery here on the forum. You can see the winning photos so far here: budgerigarsforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=budgiecompetitions&action=display&thread=1768
Now Gaile, as part of winning, gets to choose the theme for this month and she has chosen: *drum roll please!*
'Spot the budgie!'
Now this theme is all down to how you interpret it, you could take it literally as your budgie hiding, a budgie camouflaged, or even a extremely spotty budgie ;D As long as you can show how it links to the theme you can enter it. These contests are all about having fun, taking great photos of our budgies, and sharing them with all the members because we all love to see photos of budgies!
