When my children were kids I’d do two shopping trips a year - April for spring and summer clothes and September for autumn and winter clothes. It was like a military operation. I’d be in the city centre at 8am for when the first shops opened and be back on the park and ride bus heading back to the carpark by 10:30am. I loathe crowds and shopping in general. Now they’re adults and working, they buy their own apart from occasional presents for birthdays and Christmas and my youngest wears only soft clothes due to his sensory difficulties due to autism. He only wears soft joggies, t-shirts and hoodies and in the summer, joggie shorts. So his clothes get ordered from Sports Direct as and when he needs them.
I mainly use Tu clothing from Sainsbury’s, occasionally Matalan and Weird Fish for myself. Weird Fish clothing is all environmentally-friendly and I love the dresses and tunics and have a couple of fleeces too. I have never paid full price for any of their clothes however as their sales are very good value! My daughter or husband pick up anything I order for Click and Collect in the stores but all deliver to home and that’s the only way I shop now. I just don’t get people who love shopping. I practically hyperventilate just watching crowds race into stores on Boxing Day on the TV. *shudder*

ariella Funnily enough I just this minute ordered Eve some tops and leggings from Sainsburys TU. In age 6-7 (Yes, she's almost 3!)

She’s definitely growing quickly Marianne Marlow. Is she very tall for her age? Almost three already. It’s a great age for how much more they’re able to engage in activities and a little bit more peace for you hopefully. My kids all had tiny waists when little and so I had a job at times getting elasticated waists. I have been known to be sat on the floor in Debenhams by the kids jeans going through the displays for the right size. Such a nightmare when they started growth spurts as they would need a longer leg but a tiny waist. Yep, don’t miss those days at all!!

This makes for amusing reading. . MY OH comes from a large family and the four female siblings all live in large cities. Only one of them is not a shopaholic but still enjoys a day out shopping with the girls. Clothes, shoes, bags, the lot. When we all get together, we, the country outlaws, as we are known are enthusiastically rounded up for at least one all-in shopping expedition, and we fail miserably! . One of us isn’t too bad (that’s not me), one may make a purchase or two (again not me) one says she only has three pairs of shoes - crocs, flip flops and trainers - and I’ve not seen her in anything else, and I basically live in active gear since I used to work in a sports store, we had to for work, we got great staff discount and the clothes are comfy, cool and wear very well. . So I have five pairs of joggers, one pair of sandals and one pair of boots!!

ariella Funnily enough I just this minute ordered Eve some tops and leggings from Sainsburys TU. In age 6-7 (Yes, she's almost 3!) Don't get me started. Sainsbury's sizing is stupid. My daughter is skinny average height for her age and I've had clothes from there that are too tight even when aging up year or two. Funnily if you buy stuff from the 'boys' section then that's not the case! They just make the girls clothes super tight 😬.

jellybean id just look at the returns policy before buying clothes online. Do they do free easy returns if you buy online or will you have to pay to return stuff? That way you can try it on and return easily if it's not right. So for example I bought some stuff from next recently and ended up having to take it back to the shop because I wasn't willing to pay the return postage in order to swap it for a different size.

Ambrose Wilson, Kaleidoscope and La Redoute, in La Redoute there is a brand by Anne Weyburn, excellent quality and sizing. I usually wait for the sales in these catalogues and get some good bargains. They have free returns but have to pay postage, unless it is Ambrose Wilson and you pay £9.99 a year to have unlimited deliveries and next day.
I absolutely hate shopping and never buy any clothes from shops and even my food is Ocado on line.
My daughter in law bought me a designer handbag and holdall for Christmas. Such a waste on me, I will not pay for designer anything and it doesn't really mean anything. My friends have designer bag and pay £200 and more. Such a waste of money, I just think what I could spend that money.
Well today all that money will be going to the dentist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hmm, not heard of Ambrose Wilson. I need swimsuits as mine too tight but the ones I wanted to try from M&S are not available online.. obv a bit early in the season but I am going to do water aerobics.. need to shift weight and be healthier
so I will go into M&S and bring a few home. annoyingly, they do one I really like but only in one colour - and I had similar before, but then they did other colours.. hopefully they will. Also one in Next looks ok, so will go there.. I am not far from the shops.
I pay to have unlimited deliveries from Next as I do buy a lot in there
dentist... ugh.. another thing on my list to sort and opticians

My SIL goes to aquafit ffiscool, don't know if it's the same thing, she loves it. I'm not keen on the baths at all, would rather go for a walk. Buy a treadmill ffiscool, I love mine, when the weathers crap you can go for a walk and keep fit without leaving the house 😂😂

sounds similar. I like it as they normally play songs I like.. no, I hate all the faff with being in the pool, chlorine etc etc, but the pressure of the water against your skin also tightens it up, which I need..
nah.. after the last exercise bike which I did not use enough, plus lack of space, I am not buying anything for here.. this will make me go out too. I am quite happy being in.
went to m&s, naturally nothing there much in swimwear, but ordered something which I couldn't for whatever reason from here.. they will be getting more in too soon

I used to shop from La Redoute and still have a dress and some summer tops. I’m one who tends to dress classically rather than trendy so some of the clothes in my wardrobe are donkeys old!
Urgh to the dentist. I’m not a fan and have buried my head in the sand they exist since the pandemic. I got back into my exercise but it brought on jaw pain again which I got very badly and was diagnosed as TMJ so I’ve laid off it the past couple of weeks. All good intentions but I seem to be constantly hungry. I made a lovely trifle - a brownie and triple choc cookie cheesecake one. It was ever so nice! I haven’t dared get on the scales since!

I used to do Aquafit and the gym but finished when I broke my shoulder. How do you find the sizing on Shein on Lemonora, I had to buy 2 sizes too big. Bathing costumes are a nightmare, I ordered 10 of various sizes and 8 didn't fit even though they were the same size. Dentist wasn't too bad, he's decided to fill the teeth what are a problem and hopefully last another a couple of years. I really don't have good teeth and if I wanted different crowns replaced I would have to go private at about £4000 ! So I think that's a definite NO, I will wait until the crowns come off on their own. So it only cost me £68 today, yeh a good result. It would be so nice if the sizes were the same everywhere but that's a dream.
