loz Same here! Deep cleaning over weekend takes a lot of time. Sometimes I just clean the entire day.. Daily cleaning takes about an hour or two as well. We used to joke around that I've OCD about cleaning. In general, I used to be very specific about cleaning. These days I just make sure that birdie room is sparkling clean.. The rest of my house is often a mess.. Since I work from home, I keep running to the birdie room every now and then.. It's difficult indeed, but I think they help with my mental health a lot. During lunch hours or in evening, when I take short breaks, the birdie room is the only place for me to go. I love interacting with them.. the ones who are hand tame play with me all the time and the ones who aren't just communicate with their eyes and play in a different way.. When sometimes I feel very exhausted and frustrated, I try to think how my life would be without birdies. I don't think I can ever imagine that. We are looking at buying our own house in this city, we are planning how to set up the birdie room there. Would love to act as a birdie room interior designer !!

I cannot imagine where I'd be now without my birbs. Not in the happy place I find myself these days!

Nice to see you here mona we're still using your banner on the forum, it's so lovely and sparkly I agree about budgies helping with mental health. It's the reason I got (2) budgies in the first place. We're helping eachother, they help my brain and I help some of the ones that need a home.

My birds definitely save me from myself a lot of the time. When things have been rather sh*t they are the true sunshine in my life. Unfortunately the downside of sharing your life with any other being is the sense of loss when one of those being dies. But, “better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all”.

I'm glad Milli is doing well and that she grew back some feathers. I agree that having birds does make the day better My house would be far to quiet without them too.

loz Hezz Marianne Marlow criswellCouldn't agree more. These days they call out to me if I walk out of the room or if I just walk past birdie room.. Mom's birdies used to do that, and I used to feel my birdies are not attached to me as hers. I cannot believe that I felt good (a bit embarrassing to say so), when they were a bit possessive about my hand today! The ones that are not at all hand tame and run away at the sight of my hand are becoming curious about my hand. My eyes go wide open when they touch my fingers or step on my hand (mentally screaming inside yayy, but silent externally to not scare them off). It's happy feeling to see them chirping happily in the evening. I often record their well coordinated group song. It's peaceful to sit there in the evening when they are settling to sleep. Though I cannot sit there everyday due to evening calls at work, but the days I can are beautiful ❤️ Marianne Marlow I almost forgot about the banner competitions. I had to switch to desktop version to look at it. It does look sunny and sparkling!

Exactly my feelings & experiences there, Mona. I love it when a shy bird lands on me, like Mhoram started doing the other day when he follows the much more tame Smudge onto my shoulder. And the evening song is soothing. I don't even care that I can only watch shows on my laptop with subtitles switched on.
