Alternative Title: Confessions of a Numpty Here is a version of the Geo I had last year: That cage left at the same time as the ex so I bought a replacement (cage). The ex had put the original together and told me it was tricky. When I attempted the same with my cage, i decided she was a) a master/mistress of understatement and b) some form of demi-god. I had half a dozen attempts, one which was successful up until the point when I picked it up by the handle - it literally exploded. I left the darned thing for a month or two and decided to try again today. I watched the video for the fifteenth time and ... saw something I'd not noticed before. Just a small thing but crucial. I'd been doing it wrong! So I put the cage together and now I have an overflow cage for when I decide to get another budgie. And it fits nicely on top of one of the aviaries so I don't need to find space for it Instruction video: I feel a bit of an idiot but more than that, I feel very relieved! If anyone needs advice on how to build these cages, I know quite a lot about how not to do it 🤣

That looks a real faff! Well done for managing to assemble it in the end. I had an Omlet Eglu Cube and 5m run for a decade. It was worth every penny and hubby and I assembled it in a couple of hours. My flock loved it and it was so easy to clean each week. They also hold their price very well. I saw the geo cage when it was first developed and liked how different it is but decided to go for a flight cage for when the buds aren’t out the cage. It’s handy you don’t have to find the space for it.

It's such a weird looking cage, reminds me of a goldfish bowl.
Eeyore (I prefer his real name - Hector) is very brave!

If you do it right, it's pretty easy to to construct :shamefaced: It's odd but I'm less comfortable with the name Eeyore these days. It was the ex-GF who coined it and at the time it felt right but it feels wrong now. He's a lot brighter these days

Hector is much more hopeful and brave than Eeyore If you do it right, it's pretty easy to to construct :shamefaced: It's odd but I'm less comfortable with the name Eeyore these days. It was the ex-GF who coined it and at the time it felt right but it feels wrong now. He's a lot brighter these days

I don't suppose Eeyore/Hector would mind a name change. Maybe he's more of a Tigger now.

If there's a Tigger in my flock, it's Chocobo 🤣 I'll sleep on a name-change. Hector btw was an in-joke name with the ex. Hector, in a grey and black pin-stripe suit, was the name of the Inland Revenue's mascot for the introduction of Self Assessment. Long story and pretty obscure

Oh, yes. When I uncovered the aviary this morning, three of the budgies were sat together on the high perch ... and Eeyore was sat in the corner, on his own. Boggy and sad. Its going to be hard to change his name.

No, maybe he's not a morning bird until he's had his morning drink He'll perk up later! Oh, yes.
