That is a popular game! Making the human fetch. Munchy used to fetch a Kevin sometimes if I got him in the right mood and scratched the carpet.

Fetch is the best! We had a few sessions of that again today. I am well trained It was Criswell's favourite game too. He had little plastic scooby doo characters that I used to line up along the edge of the hamster tank and he'd go along and chuck them all on the floor with Dexter sitting next to him and watching.

They really are. Dexter had a really good day today. He's been very full of himself and this evening he let me twirl him round on a perch for ages. He's such a funny little critter.

My tamed rescue budgie greets me at the bars of his cage and I chat to him. Recently he looks and sounds as if he might start saying words. He was already somewhat trained when I got him I have no idea what he can do. He seems to respond very well to what I do and other times he looks very confused. He doesn't seem to interact with the other three budgies who are much younger but there has been some beak to beak touching going on so he is starting to bound with the others now. He still likes his own perch and space.

Today the budgies were very noisy they were chirping endlessly for hours so I thought time to let them out for a bit. The two bonding pair flew around and mostly followed each other. The other two didn't want to come out. I'm a bit concerned about the female budgie because she is having difficulty flying.
One of the budgies flew right up high onto one of the paintings then he started having a nibble so I had to get a broomstick to get him to go someplace else just encase it made him sick. They have gone back into there cage now. I wish I had taken some photos. Next time I'll have my camera ready.

Can you post a photo of the budgie that is having trouble flying? maybe she's going through a moult and has lost some flight feathers?

The budgies are refusing to go back in there cage so I may have to leave them out. All there food and water is in the cage so they will have to go in at some point.

What a gorgeous flock!
Yes, they will go in when they are hungry and thirsty and by the looks of them in the picture, probably all together.
I've made my lounge as budgie-safe as I can so if I have to leave them out of the cage and unattended for an hour, I do so. Longer than that though, I do my best to get them all caged, or more usually, they are not allowed out until after I've returned to budgie duty.

Longer than that though, I do my best to get them all caged, or more usually, they are not allowed out until after I've returned to budgie duty. Hopefully... normally only a couple come out and then they go back in the cage because they see the others in there but when they are all out of the cage they don't want to go back in and seem to forget they live in there. At the moment they are taking a nap on the picture frame.
My bedroom is the most budgie friendly room I just need to fix the door so it doesn't come open when I'm out while the budgies are in there and I also need to find a solution to cover up the gap behind the wardrobe which is a big heavy old wooden one and I don't want any budgies getting stuck behind it so once those two things are sorted I will make some perches for them and then the bedroom will be the budgie room. The living room where they are in has more natural light in there but there is also the house plants and lose paint chips in various places so I have to watch them.
