Hi everyone
I bought my budgie 3 days ago and noticed yesterday that there was poop stuck on his bum. When I checked again today I noticed there was more so I started to get worried. I thought about removing the poop myself, which wasn't possible, because I haven't been able to tame the budgie yet. What should I do?

If the vent is blocked or droppings are building up then you'll have to remove them.
If you can wrap the budgie in a teatowel with wings in and use some fragrance free wipes or damp tissue and try and get it off quickly.

It definitely needs to be removed and you are going to have to do so if the budgie isn’t able to do so for itself. Soaking his vent area in a bowl of warm water can help if the wipes don’t achieve anything, or you may have to resort to trimming the feathers around the vent if soaking don’t manage to shift the poop.
