You may recall that near Christmas, I obtained 2 lovebirds. I don't know their genders but I speculate one of them is male and the other one is female. I'm aware that this is a forum for budgies, and that this may not be the best place to post this concern, but I'm very worried about one of them. The supposed female, Seashell, to be specific. Their wings were clipped when we first got them. The entire time I've had her, she has been very shy, and stayed in one corner of the cage the majority of the time she's been with us. I was concerned about this, but I hoped that it would ease away as she got used to us. The lovebirds finally got to spend some time out of the cage earlier this week, and I have been letting them out of the cage daily ever since. Sparky, the supposed male, is very active and seems to be warming up to me very nicely. He doesn't go anywhere without his buddy. However. Seashell seemingly can't fly. She can fly for very short bouts, but not very long. This deeply worries me as it means she can't fly up anywhere and has to stay on the floor (which means Sparky stays on the floor too). She also can't return to the cage because of it. I've left a little steppy stool for her, but I don't know if she knows it's there for her. Does anybody know why this is? Are her wings just taking a little longer to grow back? What should I do about it? And also, how should I help get her back to the cage? I've been catching and grabbing her thus far, but it pains me to do it and I don't like how much it scares her. Any input at all would be appreciated, thanks.

Make a bridge for her to get from point A to point B, whether that be ladders, rope, perches, it doesn’t matter. A photo of her back and wings may help determine whether her flight feathers are still compromised.
