I have 3 budgies the other two appear to be fine happy and chirpy but Mango hasn't been himself over the past few days he was always chirping and seemed happy everyday. Now he has become silent and he has started plucking himself quite badly. He started plucking himself a couple of days ago and I put it down to bad air quality and thought he might be stressed from the humidity so I opened all the windows as the room was quite humid however this morning he has almost destroyed his wing, he has pecked off his flight feathers from that wing and there is dry blood from where he has been pecking himself. He isn't looking well his eyes are half closed a lot of the time. I don't think he is eating or drinking either but he is socializing with his partner every so often. This has all come on a bit sudden. Is there anything I can do to prevent him from pecking himself further?
Its possible I could be worrying about nothing, it could be that he is molting. I've not had these budgies long so I've not seen them molting, is it normal for budgies to pluck themselves like this during there molt?

My advice would be to get Mango seen by an avian vet asap. He is not a well budgie.

Normal moulting wont normally leave blood on their feathers.
I agree with Lozhinge that he needs an avian vet, especially if he is sitting with eyes closed and not eating or drinking.
What are his droppings like?
Could you post a photo if possible?

A budgie who plucks can be suffering from a number of different things and not only physically. The only way to get any sure answers is to get him examined by an avian vet. Was Mango particularly close to the bird you rehomed? Emotional stress is often the initial reason a bird begins to pluck, and habit keeps them doing it way past the initial stressors have been dealt with. Budgies are not prone to plucking as much as most but the odd bird can be more nervy than normal.

Oh yes, good point Hezz, Roswell started mutilating his feathers when Jerry died. They were very close.
