What a pair of cuties! Blue is definitely a boy - at least five months old? Yellow ... I'm not sure, could be a boy of three-four months, could be a girl. Perhaps someone else on the forum can have a confident go at this!

I'm happy with either male or female just want to make sure I have everything they need and be prepared if one day I eventually found a nestš

Your yellow bird is almost definitely male, but I would like to see a straight on photo of the blue with no artificial lighting. The white rings around the nares looks more hen than male, but that may be the lighting washing out the colour.

Iām inclined to go with female for the blue one and male for the yellow. Theyāre both still young. If you donāt want them to breed, there are many methods to try and prevent it. Theyāre are plenty of us with mixed flocks who donāt encourage breeding and are on the whole successful. Well done for rescuing the blue one from the park. How did you manage to catch it? They are both very pretty. I look forward to seeing what you name them. Welcome to the forum.

It hopped over to her and got right in her hand. I walked over and it flew up to my shoulder and stayed there until we got home (1/8th of a mile walk). I'm not planning on breeding; I plan on avoiding it. I love them already but I want to focus on the two. Thank you! My daughter has now named them Tiana and Naveen from the Disney movie princess and the frog. She's threešā¤ļø

Iām with ariella , re the blue being female. Iām thinking that way as well. The white rings around the nares and it still being a young bird makes me feel itās female. Thatās amazing how you got her home from the park on your shoulder. Your daughter has chosen lovely names.
